- the make of the matches is Otava = constallation you call Big Bear (Ursa Major) or Big Dipper; you can see the constallation on the match box

- the matches were produced in Saaren Tulitikkutehdas (= Saari Match Factory); Saari is a place in Finland and the name of the place can be translated as Island

- the writing on the red area says "on average 50 matches" translated into English

As Finland was a one time ally of the Germans they may have supplied these to the Nazis
