i am pretty sure that the wooden grip was replaced, maybe it's period replacement, we will never know
but it was replaced with an original grip.
i think that because we can see that the grip doesn't fit perfectly to the crossguard.
it's a minor bug but the price is lowered considering this.
an untouched early SS dagger from that maker is over 3500$ easy and increase every year.
*that dagger cannot be used on the 10% off or 20% off promotion...

the story about that ring is that it belonged to an early high rank member of the NSDAP who was later in the Allgemeine SS and the Waffen SS.
he lived until 103 years old and the ring was purchased at his estate...

amazing piece of history !!
