The Lappland Shield was a German World War II campaign award, the last officially instituted of the war, created for troops of the 20th Mountain Army who served in the Lapland region between November 1944 and May 1945. Eligibility required six months of service or being wounded in the area, and while authorized in February 1945, it was officially approved in May 1945, with production and distribution occurring in the immediate post-war period.
