 The decoration was donated in 1921 for members of the Hessian Freikorps Selbstschutz-Bataillon Wolf. Created in August 1921 by Lieutenant adOskar Wolf, the leader of the Hesse department and the self-defense battalion Wolf. The first badges were awarded in September 1921. Actually, the badge should be a souvenir badge until it was converted into a probation badge by the volunteers' request. Thus is written from 22 September Olt.Wolf brings in suggestion, the new badge of the voluntary Batallion Wolf as a badge of honor only to proven members of the Batl. and to foresee a general issue to all volunteers. It should not be awarded to unworthy Batl. 

Wearing attached to the left side of the chest. The Freikorps was active in Upper Silesia and fought, among others, at Annaberg. Commander was Lieutenant Wolf. There are also sleeve strips with the inscription - Wolf -. The division consisted of 3 companies with the sleeve stripes - WERWOLF -, - Sturmvogel - and - Lützow -. Manufacturer Max Reich Wroclaw or Eissler-Pforzheim.

This extraordinary album was published 1933 by Cigaretten-Bilderdienst Altona-Bahrenfeld in Germany. This book with its spectacular embossed cover is complete with all pictures accurate pasted into the text. This album never came with a dust jacket.

The 9-1/2 x 12-1/2 inch, 92-pages album is complete. The photo on the front cover shows the Quadriga on top of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin which carries the Nazi swastika flag since 8 March 1933, the day of the National Socialist revolution! There are 2 7 4 photo-like pictures pasted into the text,

ALL IN FULL COLOR

They are coming from the studios of Heinrich Hoffmann, Adolf Hitlers personal photographer. This early photo book even has pictures and a full page of text about SA-Leader Ernst Röhm! After the so called "Night Of The Long Knives" he was replaced by Viktor Lutze and all photos of him had to be removed from from every publication.
