A Kreigsmarine High Seas Fleet Badge by Rudolf Souval of Vienna. The Flottenkriegsabzeichen was awarded for service to the crews of battleships, cruisers and other supporting naval ships who met the specific award criteria (along with those who were killed in action). It is constructed out of a die-struck zinc base that has been gold gilded and blackened and there is a thick clear coat over it. The obverse depicts a frontal view of a battle ship, cutting through waves, which is below a Kriegsmarine eagle (with out-stretched wings clutching a mobile swastika within its talons) and is surrounded by an oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the bottom. The full-back concave reverse is correctly marked: “R.S.”.

It measures approximately 2 1/4 inches high by 1 ¾ inches wide. Nice!
