 The decoration was donated in 1921 for members of the Hessian Freikorps Selbstschutz-Bataillon Wolf. Created in August 1921 by Lieutenant adOskar Wolf, the leader of the Hesse department and the self-defense battalion Wolf. The first badges were awarded in September 1921. Actually, the badge should be a souvenir badge until it was converted into a probation badge by the volunteers' request. Thus is written from 22 September Olt.Wolf brings in suggestion, the new badge of the voluntary Batallion Wolf as a badge of honor only to proven members of the Batl. and to foresee a general issue to all volunteers. It should not be awarded to unworthy Batl.
